The purpose of this document is to help technicians of workshops 1 and 2 of Nokia N85 Service Manual level to perform service to Nokia N85 products. Maintenance and alignment should only be performed by qualified personnel. Make sure that all work is carried out in an antistatic workstation and an anti-static strap to be carried. Use only approved components as specified in the parts list. Make sure that all components, modules fasteners, and insulators are properly installed after maintenance and alignment. 5 make sure all wires and cables are correctly positioned.
Nokia requires that service points have sufficient protection against ESD (against static electricity) to the phone service. Any product that removed the caps must be managed with ESD protection. The SIM card can be replaced without ESD protection if the product is ready for use. The ESD protection should be applied to replace the covers. All electronic parts of the product are susceptible to ESD. Resistors can also be damaged by static discharge. All parts sensitive to ESD should be packed in protective bags metallized during shipping and handling outside any ESD protected Area (EPA). All action repair involving the opening of the product or handling of the product components should be done under ESD protection. Packages of spare parts protected against ESD should not be opened/closed out an ESD protected Area. The following suggestions will help you to fulfill any warranty obligations and to enjoy this product for many years. Keep the phone and all its parts and accessories out of the reach of small children. Keep the phone dry. Precipitation, humidity and all types of liquids or moisture can contain minerals that will corrode electronic circuits. Do not use or store the phone in dusty, dirty areas. Its moving parts can be damaged. Do not store the phone in hot areas. High temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage batteries, and warp or melt certain plastics. Do not store the phone in cold areas. When it warms up (to its normal temperature), it moisture can form inside, which may damage electronic circuit boards. Do not drop, hit or shake the phone.
